Pond Construction

No matter what type of pond yours is, you have undoubtedly had concerns about the amount of oxygen in the water. Because higher levels of oxygen can kill some types of harmful bacteria, the amount of oxygen in the water relates to the health and clarity of the water. This creates a higher quality of life for the fish living in your pond. Most aeration systems are mechanical devices that float and work on the surface of the water and have motors that turn blades and churn the water. You may be using a fountain-type aerator.

From a surface-only view this may look like its doing a good job, but it’s very ineffective and expensive from energy point-of-view. With this type equipment the oxygen remains mostly on the upper three or four inches of the pond. Additionally, we have found these mechanical devices are also prone to breakage. And if that weren’t enough, they pose a potential power-cord-in-the-water electrocution risk!

Do away with all of that… we did when we engineered our first submerged aerator in the early 1960’s … the BUBBLE GUN™. It’s seen dozens of improvements over the years and is finally in a form that is highly reliable and efficient, requiring very low maintenance.

PondEnviro’s BUBBLE GUN™ keeps the electricity and compressor on the shore where it’s safer and easy to access. Only the pressurized oxygen-carrying air travels 50 feet into the water to our uniquely designed flexible diffuser head. Our BUBBLE GUN™ boasts features the other types only dream about and it’s capable of dispersing oxygen throughout 5 acres of water! To every level and part of the pond.

FISHPONDS

People who have fishponds need clean well-aerated water for growing fish. The BUBBLE GUN™ Pneumatic Aeration System provides a safe and economical means of improving the quality of water. Our aeration system puts oxygen into the water, which helps to clean the water and causes fish to eat more heartily all year long. This improves fish growth. Fish that live in cleaner water will be healthier and grow faster. The use of an aeration system keeps ponds from “turning over” in the late summer and fall.

GOLF COURSES

Golf courses have water hazards that frequently look scummy and unsightly. To keep the grass rich and green requires using fertilizer. Fertilizer run-off causes water hazards and ponds to become stagnant. The increase in nutrients in the water causes algae to grow and forms scum. Increased oxygen in the water reduces the growth of algae and bacteria that can contribute to stagnation and bad smell. The BUBBLE GUN™ Pneumatic Aeration System keeps a water hazard looking clean and reduces the bad smell of stagnation.

DUCK HUNTING CLUBS

It’s winter and no other field has open water as far as a drake can see. Now you sight ducks moving through. They spot the subtle movement of your decoys in YOUR open water. You call… they turn and pitch in, cup their wings and begin the glide path to your spread. Take –em. Pow POw POW!!! “Alright, we got ‘em!” This is an entirely realistic scenario. We have seen this happen time and time again. When the temperature drops and every pond in sight is frozen, the most important real estate to ducks is open water. The BUBBLE GUN™ aeration system provides open water. Moving water doesn’t freeze. Our aeration system is also very quiet. All you need is a 110 volt supply to hook up the system. Maintaining open water in extreme cold is most effective when you have a depth of 3 feet or more.

CATTLE FARMERS

Livestock need clean water, but livestock ponds are notorious for a covering of scum and slime. Little wonder! With all the droppings and uric ammonia they contain… they need help! PondEnviro’s BUBBLE GUN™ aeration system is just about the best thing you can do for any pond. We have had tremendous success with cattle ponds. An aerated pond is “sweeter” and contains fewer harmful bacteria. Your livestock have healthier water and you don’t have to put up with that smell of stagnation. Plus… you just might get your favorite fishin’ hole back.

FIRE DEPARTMENTS

Our stop-leak products have been particularly useful to fire departments. Many have dug a pond-reservoir near their station-house and some need help keeping theirs sealed and full of water. If the banking is not too steep, 45 degrees or less, then DB-200 may be useful. If there is steep banking under the water-line, then DB-110 should be called to the scene.
